Bloggy Carnival Giveaway!

Today Emma turned two-and-a-half. To commemorate this momentous occasion we decided to hold a giveaway in her honor. Since I am a big fan of automation, efficiency, and cycle-time reduction, I want to hear what software products or web-based services you use to get things done. You wanna know what you’re playing for? (Can you tell I love Survivor). Then take a look at the official rules below:

  1. My favorite tech tip… always be willing to learn new things. It seems once I learn something about technology, it changes. One must be flexible!

  2. Target is a fun store!!

  3. I use Paint Shop Pro every day. I wuv it!

  4. Depends on what I’m doing. I really love Adobe Photoshop album for pictures, iTunes for keeping track of my music and favorite Podcasts, and Blaze Media Pro for converting music from one format to another (I convert my iTunes tracks to .mp3s using that program so I can play them in my car.

There are many others but those are just a few.

  5. Please enter me. I like photobucket too to share videos with family and friends. I am currently trying to figure out how to keep up with all the blogs I read and am trying Google Reader.

  6. Microsoft outlook is my favorite tech tip! It is so great and it connects to my Palm pilot so I can sync up my computer to that and everything is much more portable. Thanks!

  7. I use Picasa for pics and I also use a word count javascript site.

  8. iGoogle. It’s so convenient to have a homepage I can access from anywhere. I keep all my bookmarks on my iGoogle homepage so that wherever I am, I can access anything I need. It works out well for me, since I don’t have my own computer. I use my dad’s or sometimes my brother’s, so using the built-in bookmark tool feels like I’m encroaching on their space a little bit. So I just keep them all in one place on my own homepage. So great.

  9. google is probably my life preserver!! Love love love it. It helps me find anything & everything. BTW.. you’re daughter is beautiful. Thanks for the giveaway.

  15. Well… my husband swears by the iGTD program he installed on both our computers. I’m sure that it would work for me too if I would just input my tasks like he does… maybe tomorrow?

Your website is set up so organized and clean. I can tell you are efficient and probably a fantastic dad! What a fun way to celebrate your daughters 2.5 birthday.

As for my own tech resources, I LOVE listography.com. I inherited my mom’s habit of using lists, and sticky notes. Well, no more (except for grocery lists)! I log into listography first thing in the morning when I’m logging into mail, and it’s totally saved our house from random paper and stickies.

Thanks for the great giveaway, and happy carnivaling!

RoboForm helps to fill in those forms I use all the time. It helps me to remember which password did I use here. Or which password did this site assign me.
thank you for asking. Time for me to look over everyone else’s choices on software.
Great place to learn about something that will make life on the computer easier.
    Thank you.

  36. Sandy–a free personal assitant http://iwantsandy.com/

  37. I enjoy instant messaging. I’m not much of a computer person.

  39. I use a thing called Roboform on my comp to fill forms.

  40. I like my Yahoo page because I can set up the RSS feed to all the blogs I like to read. Thanks for the chance!

  41. My only tech tip probably isn’t much of a tip…we just use picasa to store photos and such. It’s nice to have a back-up somewhere that won’t get lost in case the computer crashes.
